Good Afternoon Hillcrest Families and Friends, October was a busy month for Hillcrest Hornets and we are excited to transition to November where we are highlighting “gratitude” as a focus for our students and staff. We have so much to be grateful for, and your children are at the top of the list.
INCLEMENT WEATHER AND INDOOR RECESS! Recess is an important time for our students to participate in physical movement and take a break from the day. That being said, we provide an indoor recess when the weather outside includes:
Please make sure that students are well prepared for cold weather and have coats, gloves, hats and boots so that they are able to be warm and comfortable when outside on some of our colder days.
CHOICE ENROLLMENT in ADAMS 12 The Adams 12 School Choice window opens December 1, 2024 at which time a list of schools open to Choice will be posted to this website: Choice Program The deadline for priority consideration is January 2, 2025. Please review our updated Choice Policy.

Community Flyers While you receive all school based flyers and communication on Wednesdays, you can access our community flyers anytime by visiting our school website here.
Attendance Incentives For the next three weeks, we will be running several attendance incentives to help provide an extra motivator for our students to be here everyday. Weekly individual incentives: Each week we will randomly select one primary and one intermediate student who had perfect attendance for the week. This week, they will get to be “Principal for an hour” with Mr. Peterson or Mrs. Fiorenza. Best class: The primary class and intermediate class with the best attendance for the whole period will earn an extra recess with Mr. Peterson and Mrs. Fiorenza!
