Good Afternoon Hillcrest Families and Friends!

Here we are in the final stretch of the 2024-2025 school year!  We are excited about the opportunities that this month brings as we reflect on our growth this year and celebrate our successes!

Celebration of Learning - May 15, 5:30 - 7pm

Come for the “celebration of learning” and stay for the fun!  The evening will start in classrooms as students share and celebrate what they have learned this year.  After visiting classrooms, we will provide hotdogs and snacks (first come, first served), a free Kona Ice to all Hillcrest students as well as games and entertainment outside on the back field including an obstacle course, a dunk tank to dunk Hillcrest school staff, tattoos, yard games and more! We can’t wait to see you then!

LAST CALL for Lost and Found!

Please make sure to stop by the Lost and Found during Celebration of Learning to collect any missing items.  We will be donating all remaining items to a local thrift store on Friday, May 16th.

FIELD DAY - Friday, May 23  (Rain backup date will be Tuesday, May 27)

Field day will take place on Friday, May 23st for all students.  This year, our students in grades 3, 4 and 5 will have field day from 8:10 - 10:35 on the back playground and field area.  Our students in grades K, 1 and 2 will participate from 11:50 - 2:15.  We invite all parents to attend and cheer on our students as they participate in this fun event.  A couple of friendly reminders:

  • No dogs or vaping will be allowed, given that this is a school event

  • If you decide to bring younger or older sibling please respect that the events are for Hillcrest students only (for safety and supervision reasons)

As we approach the event, we will send more specific information!

Kindergarten and Fifth Grade Continuation Ceremonies

As our kindergarten students and fifth grade students transition to the next grade level, we hold a celebratory continuation ceremony to honor and recognize these milestones.  The continuation ceremonies will be held on Thursday, May 29th in the school cafeteria.  The kindergarten ceremony will take place from 8:30-9:15; the 5th grade ceremony will take place from 10:00-11:00 am.  If parents choose to check students out for the remainder of the day, a form of ID will be required.

Class Environment Requests for 2025 - 2026 School Year

As we begin preparing for the next school year, we work diligently to ensure that we are creating well balanced class lists so that all students can thrive and be successful.  Because you know your child best, if you have a request specifically related to the type of classroom environment that would best meet your child’s needs, please email me directly at Erika.L.Fiorenza@adams12.org by May 9th and we will do our best to honor your request.
