Hillcrest gets creative to focus on student attendance

Hillcrest Elementary is trying new things focusing on student attendance. We know attendance is a critical component of student success. As part of our new attendance initiative, we select one primary and one intermediate student each week to be principal for an hour. The student travels the building with Chris Peterson, Assistant Principal, visiting classrooms, and giving feedback. Our first AP for an hour was a dedicated first grader , Josiah who did a great job as an AP! We are so glad we can add theses meaningful connections as we strive to ensure Hillcrest is a place filled with warm and inclusive learning environments for staff and students.
